A streamlined profile, excellent fit, and intuitive access have made the CPL series an award-winner and our bestselling backpack style for 8 years. We took its modern DNA and infused it with a custom-made, high-end cotton & wax-finished shell called P400 Wax C4X.

The waxed canvas was developed with the historic Scottish mill Halley Stevensons. It is stiff, durable, and designed to get better with age. We added leather zipper pullers sourced from 100-year-old supplier Berger Co. Combined with our standard gray internal lining and the CPL16’s signature features sets and appearance, this heritage variation is built to make its own legacy.

The end result is a weave that’s a more tear-resistant than other waxed canvas we testedundefined and a harder and more crystalline wax than what is usually found in apparel.

Ergonimic Harness

Superior fit resulting from our 3d patterning. CPL16 rides high for active carry and with our asymmetrical laptop patterning, it is exceptionally comfortable even with a laptop inside.

Exterior Top Pocket

Quick, easy access to smaller items and key leash without setting the bag down. Uses volume above the shoulders and does not interfere with main compartment. Keeps more fragile items up high, above the main load.
