Vinxper Expert uses a new and exclusive patented aeration technology, the first to accurately and freely adjust the decanting time from 0 to 240 minutes. The effect is comparable to using a glass decanter. Consequently, some wines that require longer decanting times, such as Barolo or Barbaresco, become very simple to handle.

Decanting is meant to soften (oxidize) the tannins in wine. Differences in terroir every year mean that wine from the same winery will also vary in its tannin content every year. Even professional sommeliers differ in their opinions on how long wines of the same vintage and from the same winery should be aerated for. Most of the available data worldwide suggests that about 99% of young wines between 3 and 7 years old need to be decanted using a glass decanter for about 30 to 240 minutes.
