WHAT'S NEW IN THE MCKINNON CAMERA PACK 35L V2?
V2 is a refinement of the original, built on the same trusted suspension, camera protection, and divider system, with upgrades in the areas our community asked us to refine. The clothing compartment is now larger by 1" in every direction with its own expansion, the front face is structured to hold its shape under load, the main fabric is a higher-tenacity ripstop that's lighter and just as durable, and the main zipper is now better reinforced.
WILL MY EXISTING MCKINNON DIVIDERS AND CAMERA CUBE PACK STILL FIT IN V2?
Yes. The camera compartment volume is unchanged from V1, so your existing dividers and Camera Cube Pack still fit perfectly.
HOW MUCH CLOTHING CAN I ACTUALLY PACK IN THE V2?
The reconfigured clothing compartment is about 1" larger in height, width, and depth, and now includes its own expansion zipper. Most travelers can comfortably pack four days of clothing alongside a full camera kit.
HOW MUCH LIGHTER IS THE V2 COMPARED TO THE V1?
V2 weighs approximately 5.5 lbs — about a quarter pound lighter than V1. We dropped weight by upgrading to a higher-tenacity ripstop main fabric and removing the metal stays, while keeping the same strength, water resistance, and structural integrity.
WHAT SIZE LAPTOP FITS IN THE MCKINNON CAMERA PACK 35L V2?
The external side sleeve fits most laptops up to 16", and the internal sleeve fits most laptops up to 14". Max external sleeve dimensions are 15.5" x 11"; max internal sleeve dimensions are 13" x 11.5".
IS THE MCKINNON CAMERA PACK 35L V2 CARRY-ON COMPLIANT?
Yes. At 22" H x 13.5" W x 9.5" D, the V2 meets the carry-on size limits of most major airlines. When fully expanded to 42L, we recommend checking your airline's specific size limits, especially for international or budget carriers.
CAN I CARRY A TRIPOD WITH THE MCKINNON CAMERA PACK 35L V2?
Yes. The V2 includes a hidden tripod pocket designed to secure most standard travel tripods to the exterior of the pack, keeping the silhouette clean when not in use.
IS THE MCKINNON CAMERA PACK 35L V2 WEATHER RESISTANT? DOES IT COME WITH A RAIN FLY?
The main fabric is a higher-tenacity ripstop with a water-resistant coating, paired with durable urethane-coated zippers throughout. The V2 is built to handle rain, spills, and splashes — though we don't recommend fully submerging it. A rain fly is not included. You can purchase it HERE
